Unit pricing
All plans give you credit toward usage. If you want to make sure you'll be within that usage, or you want to calculate expected overage costs, here's the unit pricing we use. Please note that setup fees will be charged separately from the plan, and any pricing negotiated with our team will override the pricing shown on this page.
Messaging pricing
Messaging pricing is notoriously difficult to predict because of the different fees charged by each carrier. The carrier fees are typically the same across most of our competitors, so you will want to compare the Surge price to their listed pricing. However, you'll want to compare the sum of our price plus the carrier fees for calculating your costs.

- How does carrier registration work?
- Carrier registration is required for all business SMS traffic in the US. We've streamlined this process and can typically get you approved within 72 hours, while our competitors often take weeks. We'll guide you through the entire process.
- Do you support short codes?
- Yes, we support short codes on our Custom plan. Short codes require additional setup and approval processes, but provide higher throughput for message blasts and better brand recognition.
- Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan later?
